Right-to-Life Legislation
Overturning Roe vs. Wade and Doe
vs. Bolton

The
Coalition for Pro-Life Legislation engages in an essential
function of the Pro-Life Lobby Group of advocating and promoting
legislation that will protect the unborn from the moment of
conception. The fundamental key to Pro-Life Legislation is utilizing
votes to elect Candidates who have demonstrated a consistent
Pro-Life track record. Every voter must be aware that the
Right-To-Life supersedes all other issues. Political concerns and
issues such as Foreign Affairs and Medical Programs are minor as
compared the nearly ten thousand human lives terminated in the
United States every day. The President of the United States
can play a decisive role in advancing or retreating the Pro-Life
cause in America. The election of a Pro-Life President can
secure a political environment that is supportive of Pro-Life
legislation and policies. The President of the United States
influences the sanctity of life in America through the appointment
of United States Supreme Court Justices, who in turn play the lead
role in dictating American abortion decisions.
It
is also very important to recognize that Pro-Life Voting must not be
limited only to the Presidency, but also extends to other positions
such as the Senate. Currently, the Supreme Court interprets our laws
in the layout of Roe vs. Wade legalizing abortion. This decision can
be overturned.
The
President appoints Supreme Court judges, and Appeal Court judges, as
well as other Federal Court judges. These Supreme Court appointees
are typically drawn from the pool of Appeal Court judges. The Senate
must confirm the Supreme Court appointee. Furthermore, the Senate
also must vote on the appointment of Appeal Court judges. Before a
vote on the floor of the Senate can take place, these Appeal Court
judges must initially be approved by a majority of the Senate
Judiciary Committee. Currently, there are 10 Republican members and
9 Democratic members on the Senate Judiciary Committee. The
Republicans have a majority of one. However, the Democratic members
of the Senate Judiciary Committee utilize a filibuster, creating a
stalemate for potential Appeals Court nominee they do not wish to
consider. These Democratic members have voted against Appeals Court
appointees because they held Pro-Life views. To correct this, every
vote must be for Candidates who respect human life.
In order to build a United
Pro-Life Coalition, we must first be sure that everyone who respects
human life over the age of 18 years of age is registered to vote. If
you are a parent, with children over 18 years old at home, encourage
them to register to vote and assume their adult responsibilities.
But keep in mind that students away from home on election day may
need to request an "absentee ballot".
Registration is a relatively
simple process; a registration form can be downloaded on-line and
then mailed in to one’s County Clerk or State Board of Elections.
Here is a link where you can download a voter registration form for
your state, along with the correct address to where it should be
mailed:
